Integration of the Prof. Wole Soyinka Award for Youth Leadership

27 Feb 2026

The Le Bon Prize is pleased to announce the formal integration of the Prof. Wole Soyinka Award for Youth Leadership into the Le Bon Prize platform.

This decision reflects a strategic step toward strengthening a unified recognition platform while preserving the history, values, and legacy of the Prof. Wole Soyinka Award for Youth Leadership. The integration does not create a new award category under the Le Bon Prize. Rather, it ensures that the legacy of the award will be permanently recognised within the broader institutional framework of the Le Bon Prize.

The Prof. Wole Soyinka Award for Youth Leadership, awarded on August 2, 2024, was established to honour exceptional young people whose leadership, courage, and commitment to social progress made a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond. As the Le Bon Prize continues to evolve as a broader platform for recognising excellence, service, and transformative contribution to society, it is both fitting and important that this legacy be preserved within it.

As part of this transition, the Le Bon Prize proudly recognises the previous recipients of the Prof. Wole Soyinka Award for Youth Leadership, all honoured on August 2, 2024:

Ayovuata Courage Uyoyou
Innovation and Entrepreneurship Category

Mohammed Sabo Keana
Social Justice and Activism Category

Blessed-Chinatu C. Orji
Community Development and Service Category

These distinguished recipients represent the spirit and vision that the Prof. Wole Soyinka Award for Youth Leadership stood for. Their work continues to inspire a new generation of leaders and changemakers, and their recognition will remain visible and honoured within the Le Bon Prize platform.
