Chief Dr. Bassey E. O. Edem is a seasoned administrator, chartered accountant, and business leader with extensive executive and board-level experience across the corporate, public, and non-profit sectors.

He holds a National Diploma in Accountancy from Yaba College of Technology, a B.Sc. in Accounting from the University of Lagos, and an MBA from the University of Calabar. He also received an honorary Doctor of Business Administration (DBA). He is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School Chief Executives Programme.

Dr. Edem began his professional career at United Africa Company of Nigeria (UACN) Plc, where he rose to the position of Senior Audit Group Manager. He later joined Pamol Nigeria Limited, serving as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer for over two decades. During this period, he also held a concurrent role as Executive Director at Dunlop Nigeria Plc.
He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA), and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

Dr. Edem has held numerous leadership roles in industry and public service, including positions within employers’ associations, chambers of commerce, and international commodity organisations. His experience spans governance, industrial relations, agricultural development, and economic policy advisory.

He has served on several boards in both executive and non-executive capacities, including roles in financial services and agribusiness. He currently serves as Executive Chairman of Demaco Integrated Ventures Limited and holds non-executive directorships in select organisations.

Dr. Edem is a recipient of national and international honours, including the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR), in recognition of his contributions to business and public service.
